SLA has been looking after students for nearly 20 years. Initially
all of the properties were our own, until we built a reputation for
forward thinking within the letting industry and our style of
looking after students and their houses inevitably brought in more
business in the shape of clients.
Now with approximately 400 students letting from us in Canterbury
SLA is even more committed to offering a choice of accommodation,
price and a service that ultimately makes their life easier.

The students are not required to do any gardening
Tenancy Agreement
The AST
or assured shorthold tenancy document is
for most of the students the first time they will sign a legal
document. Consequently before they sign with SLA our fully trained
staff will spend time running through the agreement explaining any
jargon in plain terms.
The
students are given a copy of the AST at least 24hrs before they sign
the agreement so that they have time to show and discuss it with you
and or their friends and then raise any questions before the
meeting.

If you think there is a need to re-let or sub-let please call us first and we will endeavour to help, we may point you in the direction of the Sub-let letter for existing tenants in the Documents and Forms secion of the site.
Student Safety: We are accredited with the local council
There is
a house book at every property which will contain every up to date
certificate you would wish to see to ensure your child’s safety.
(NICEIC, Gas Safety ) Smoke Alarms and Fire Blankets are standard in
all houses, and PAT (portable appliance) tests are carried out
yearly on those appliances that we supply. Notes on personal safety
are also discussed in the house book, giving examples of what to do
in different situations when living away from home. During the
Christmas break when students are away our workmen will check the
property over for you, making sure that windows are closed, taps
turned off etc and the property is secure. We operate a 24hr call
out service for emergencies.

SLA Maintenance Team
are
an integral part of the service we supply to our students.
They are
easy to recognise with our SLA T. shirts and I.D available. Our team
of guys are experienced and unfazed by anything! They work in
Canterbury all day fixing, maintaining and securing any problems that
arise. We aim to be at the property the same day if reported in the
morning or within 48hrs. as each call comes in it is prioritised and
seen accordingly.
Charges?
Not for every day wear and tear.
Locked out? We will
assist you if you lock yourself out by sending somebody out
to let you in, but as this costs us money, we would charge
you.£40.00
Lost keys?
We will organise them for you but will charge you for the
replacement
Breakages? e.g. broken door? If we have to repair a door because of
crazy antics at a party for example we would charge you.
